USA has only five per cent of the world's population but uses 23 per cent of its energy, 15 per cent of its meat and 28 per cent of its paper.
Are you surprised? shocked? indifferent?

I believe the US uses ~14 million barrels of oil per day out of a total world production of around ~72 million barrels a day. If you add in all of the coal we burn and nuclear fuel we use, etc. I think one quarter is highly likely.
So what is your point? Would you prefer it to be less? or more? Answer me this: Who gets more dirt moved in a day, a man with a pick and shovel and wheelbarrow or a man with a Diesel front end loader? And who uses up more fuel? When you figure out the answer to this question, then maybe you will gather some insight into why the US uses one quarter of the world's fuel. And maybe you will also understand why Uganda or Guatamala have not launched any weather satellites or GPS systems or anything else.

The US use a lot of everything. And it was meant to be the land of dreams. Oh how wrong can people be.
It needs to change its consumption patterns. Every individuals life, in the western world, needs to change. I'm not sure if this is possible.
The US will go on gorging itself on Food, Oil, Water, etc etc

What we all need to focus on is that 15% of the worlds population uses 85% of the resources, that is not counting China and India. What happens when they come fully on board the western sinking ship?

No, they produce one quarter of all the pollution in
the world which, necessarily, does not all come from fuel,
but it is pretty close.
