We don't capitalize God because he's a god, but because the word is a name, and thus, a proper noun. It's only about language, and not respect.

No, we capitalize it because it's a proper noun, just like Bob, Mary, New York, The United States, etc. It used to be that all Nouns were capitalized, and it is still done so in some Languages, such as German.

No. If there was more than one Superman then we would not capitolize, but since there is only one it is used as a name, which is a proper noun.
