Before you opt for plastic surgery, try a product call Mederma. You can find it at the drugstore usually by the pharmacy. It helps fade and "erase" scars and worked wonders on my surgery scar from an anterior cruciate ligament repair. You may also want to look into Botox or collagen injections to simply fill in the scars or pitting. I've never had either and cannot really tell you about the safety of either. So do your research and talk to both doctors and people who have had them to decide whether it will work for you.

Hi, I've been having the same problem. A friend recommended bio oil and I've been giving that a go. I've only been using it about a month but there is some difference, only minor though. When I'm going out I use a really good foundation/concealer combo on my arms, just war trousers or tights to cover my legs. A friend of mine recommended using a fake tan which can help with more minor scars. I didn't like it though and my more recent scars stood out even more, so not worth doing it you have newer scars. Hope this is helpful.

Do not as some one suggested break it open to get ride if it. You will only be opening yourself up to another infection.
The most natural way to get rid of scars is to use aloe and vitmin E oil. You can pick these two things up at your local Wal-Mart in the vitimin asle. You can also use just about any thing ment for strech marks also. You can find that in the Lotions. The scare will never truely go away, but with the use of these idems you can make it less apparnt. In the case of many of my scars the only time you can see them is when I get a bad sun burn.
I know that some drug companies are now making products that do the same thing as aloe and vitimin e oil, but at a higher cost. But as with all of these options it will take four to six weeks before you see results.

Micordermabrasion worked for me. I had a raised scar on my nose that is barely visable after three office treatments.
The home kits are worthless as are most of the salons offering microdermabrasion- the machines vary in strength and due to liability, MD's (usually) have the best equipment for this dermabrasion.
See a dermatologist for your options. They may give you an acid peel, too. Prices vary but I think they average about $75 each or a series of dermabrasion at a discount. If the scars are deep, go for multiple treatments until it is gone.
If the scar is fresh, you can try topical creams to help heal. Otherwise, it may be too late for home remedies.

Vitamin E oil has been know to heal scars. Go to GNC or HiHealth and ask for some really quality oil. Put it on every night and cover it with a bandaid so it doesn't get on the pillows. Use it as often as you can and keep it on a long as possible. Use it when hanging around or cleaning the house. It does take awhile but it is worth the try. They may not disappear totally but may become less noticeable.

My dermatologist recommended Vitamin E for my scar. The small capsules or pure oil. It will reduce it significantly. If you want it removed permanently, you should see a cosmetic dermatologist who might refer you to a plastic surgeon.

You should as a plastic surgeon what he thinks would work, skin peels, laser, etc. His experience with past patient would be very valuable. In the meantime, you can go as 'The Riddler' for Halloween.. (not trying to be cruel, just funny)

Plastic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
