I have a very handsome Puerto Rican friend (we're just friends). I want to tease him a little about his good looks and call him "Pretty Man" when I write to him. I don't want to call him 'Handsome Man' or the like in a serious way; I want him to know I'm good-naturedly teasing him. Will "Pretty Man" translate into Spanish a Puerto Rican would use in that way? If not, does anyone have any other more appropriate suggestions? Thank you!

You could call him "chulo". I'm Puerto Rican myself.

I used to be engaged to a chica from Colombia. When the mood was right she'd call me "Guapo" meaning "Handsome"
