I'm not denying that it is supposedly "the word of god": however, people who believe it still believe it was written by humans: diciples, Paul, etc. Since Christ was supposedly the only perfect human, why is it that these men could not have made mistakes?

Many times in the last 2000 years people have felt that they had the right to edit the bible. Some protestant churches use a different bible. People of other religions would deny that this was because of divine inspiration. Why do they insist that the original edits were?
Also, if it was written under divine inspiration, why won't we let someone today who feels they've had divine inspiration add their thoughts to it?

Also, any bible that an English speaker reads has been translated, and since different translations can have entirely different meanings (I have two bibles where the chronology of the creation story is different).

The writers of the Bible were fallible men, but their writings were divinely inspired.

If it was written by imperfect men then how is it when imperfect men born in sin read it they each get a different meaning and thereby the world has 1000 religions and one book with men saying," this is what I believe," others saying," this is what I believe."
The bible says the book is foolishness to men.
John 17:1-26 Jesus says the men that God give him. Luke 8:10 it is not meant for men to understand, but Elect Mark 13:27 and Matt.24:3,7,14,15,22,34,36-38 [ with the end near ], the false could almost foll the very elect, how do they differ?
How does a man be meek, humble, just, honest, doing right and being fair or honorable or have the fruits of the spirit as a human fit to be called a human, having respect for all he knows he did not invent or create. Gen.8:21 implies that this is near to impossible from birth. So how do we Matt.5:3-12 find,"theirs is the kingdom of the heavens."
The prophets and Jesus and the apostles all agreed that humans in sin, have eyes and they can not see and ears and they can not hear Matt.13:14-17; Acts 28:23-28; We as in a state of sin, do not fully understand our condition. Did Abraham have a bible?
It is written so very simple using simple word and most get the high minded idea that they are smarter than these writters, humble as a child is requirred.
A child is taught all his life, go back to be as a child to let the word of God tell you what to believe as up to this point all believe what they have been taught.
Now let the bible teach for at least 3 years as Jesus did his disciples.
Test you self on every level, 2Tim.2:15; 3:15-17; Study every subject. Jesus is crucified, resurrected, ascended John 3:13-17 and none went to heaven but him to sit on the right hand of God until Satan and ungodly angels are cast to earth a short time and then the place for the heavenly Elect is prepared. John 6:39.40.44;
Rom.5:8-11; Were you and enemy when you first began to learn? How long an enemy?
Is there a resurrection and Judgement?
Acts 17:31; 24:15; John 5:20.26-29; Dan.12:1-3-13; Isa.26:19; Psm.104:29,30; John 12:47,48; Rev.20:1-6 the heavenly body Rev.3:12; at his coming 12,13 the earthly body 2Pet.3:13 [ for new earth ]; resurrected from hell as Jesus was, Acts 2:27-35; from sea or death Rom.14:9-12; Philip.2:5,9-12;
Heb.9:27 It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgement.
Cor.15:22-28,51-53 As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
We can not help being here and we will not be able to not be there, so prepare.
WHY DO WE HAVE THE BIBLE
KJV Bible 1611 published + 303 = 1914 CE never a WW1, an excepted translation for the world.
DID GOD MAKE A MISTAKE?
Is this reality for the book and the law of the land, and would God abide by the law of the land with his word coming to the world that has Satan in it and Rev.12:6-11, 12 the WORD is here. Satan is angry and has a short time to Rev.20:1-6 in what Empire of the world is Satan in at the end?
Dan.9:2,24-27 and math for the Messiah to come and be cut off [ after Greece ];
Dan.7:25 [ the math ]; Dan 8:12-14 WHERE IS THE TRUTH WITH ALL THE PROMISED LAND DESTROYED? Will the world have it in 2300 years or 1694 + 300 years to 1994 CE and how is it doing in the world? What world Empire was 1611 and What world Empire will follow it? Jesus faced Satan in the Roman Empire the sixth that Satan is in Matt.4:1-11.
Eph.2:7; 3:21 the world with Jesus is without end.

I don't think it's infallible. I'm sure that there are some mistakes/minsiterpretations. But I acknowledge that there's a lot of truth in it, too. I think a person with a good head and an open mind can sort out what's really important. The basic message, "Be good to eachother, and be very careful not to do anything to inadvertantly hurt anybody else," is obviously sound. That truly is the ultimate message, although it's obscured by a lot of other stuff.

There are many contradictory passages in the Bible as well as stories and parables that are told several times each version being different. Sometimes Jesus directly contradicted old testament references. So the answer is that the Bible like any other written text is fraught with error and misunderstandings. We should as Jesus said "Take the best part for ourselves." There is great wisdom and truth in the Bible but this must be illuminated by one's own inner light inspired by the Holy Spriit that is in all of us.

Christ is never a perfect human. He made more mistakes than we do. The Old Testament was dictated by God to most men of lesser qualities. Moses admitted he has a speech defect. Isaiah was afraid he cannot represent God because he came from a family of dirty mouths. Jeremiah said he was only a child meaning he has no knowledge of God yet. David was only a teenager without experience in the battle and yet he was called to lead Israel and write the Book of Psalms. As a King he committed adultery and conspiracy to murder. Jacob who even from the womb of his mother have already been taking advantage of his brother's weakness. Solomon may have been the wisest among God's choice and yet God knew he was weak with women that angered Him for his idolatrous behaviour but because of his promise to David, God did not punish him severely.Yet all of them were chosen to write His words so that they cannot argue with God as to what words to put in the Book because it has to be God's words only so that people like us could only question God and not them if anyone sees anything that does not fit to our sense of belief. And yet as believer that what were written were God's words, then its infallibility exist. The words from the New Testaments however, were not all from God since even the Apostles are not agreeing to several accounts. And since most of it were arranged by scholars with their own minds who claimed divine inspirations is subject to suspicions. There may be many good things that we have learned from it but not all good things from our perceptions does not neccesarily have to be right. Whatever wisdom you get from the Book, learn to have understanding and that is what will set us free. Do not separate the Old yet, a time is still to come before we can be able to set it aside and that time is when God Himself will put His words into our hearts and minds and there will be no more among our brothers who will tell us to know our God because we will all know him.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (New International Version)
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
God told the men what to say...they were inspired by Him. The words of the Bible are God's...men wrote what God told them to write. hope this helps! :)

Who says Jesus was a perfect human? The bible tells us that he had insecurities and doubts and fits of anger.
Some parts of the bible are "eye witness" accounts so-to-speak, so they retain the qualities of being subjectively written.
All subjectively written accounts are going to be influenced by the point of view of the writer.
I guess I agree with you, it isn't infallible, it is a story book/morality play/documentary/self help book/ guide to living. Much of which was passed down orally until someone wrote it down. Every play telephone with a group of people?

40 fallible men wrote 66 books over about 1600 years, coming from all walks of life: farmers, shepherds, politiicans, kings, merchants.... And yet it reads as one harmonious book. That is because one Holy Spirit was guiding the minds of each of those writers.
They were fallible, but the guidance they received, consciously or not, was infallible.
I have been reading it for over 40 years, having read it through about 30 times, and have never found cause for complaint.

i think of that's in basic terms a sprint of the two. sure, guy wrote it, so i think of according to risk they threw human ideas and interpretations in whilst it wasn't significant. yet on the comparable time that's infallible with the aid of fact that's inspired via God. How interior the worldwide could something insignificant make sense to believers and seekers for over 2000 years? How plenty has our worldwide replaced over that factor physique?

God wouldn't allow His work to be messed up. Regardless of whether the men were infallible or not, they were under God's influence to write what they wrote. He created everything, you would think He can control a human if He wants to. :-)
