Ok I have a small cold sore not too noticeable but to me it is. I'm to see my man tomorrow and I know kissing is off limits but don't want to say, "oh...I have a cold sore". What else can I say that doesn't sound so bad? Allergic reaction to something I ate? Wind burn? Help me out here. Thanks.

Why are you so ashamed of a cold sore? Millions of people get them. It's not the same virus that causes genital herpes. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just tell him it's not a good idea to kiss right now since you have a cold sore. Simple as that.

Just tell him the truth and let him decide so long as he knows if could be catching. I don't want to be too crude but it would be very unreasonable for you to kiss him somewhere below the belt if you know what I mean! It is the simplex virus which lives within most of the human population. Tea tree oil and especially lavander oil are anti viral and will clear it up quickly.

No point in not being honest. More than 60% of people have it, although I know you don't want to pass it on. It is highly contagious when it appears as a sore.

Here is BIG NEWS for you which works every time.

Get an ice cube and ice it for 10 mins every hour. It will be stopped dead in its tracks and disappear fast.
My wife and I have used it repeatedly. Its amazing, especially if you catch it at the "tingly" stage.

Look just tell him you have a cold sore and that though it hurts not to kiss him it would hurt more to do so. Besides cold sores are common. He should understand. The best thing for it btw is abreva. It got rid of mine in two days.

You could say "O I have herpes" but of course you want to opt for lieing, just tell the truth you have a cold sore and kissing is verboten right now but as soon as it heals watch out baby!!!!!

well, its better than saying "i have hepes" (because thats exactly what it is) its bacterial ,whether you acquired it from someone else or you were just getting over being sick and having a fever (they also call it fever blisters) - its your bodies way of getting rif of the bacteria-
Saying i have a cold sore is better, itll be obvious youre lying about it having one. Just tell him you used a friends lip gloss and found out shed had one and used the same one and didnt think to throw it out and you got it

Tell him the truth, he'll appreciate your thoughtfulness. In the meantime, try pushing some table salt into the sore. It hurts at first, but it'll be gone within 48 hours.
