Although I am not sure about "paying jobs," there are many community theaters in Kansas. Here are some places for you to check:
Kansas Arts Council--you may want to start here. This group funds many artistic organizations and productions.
Columbian Theatre in Wamego, Kansas--usually has a very energetic schedule of terrific productions.
Community arts/theatre programs thrive in Manhattan, Salina and Abilene. These towns have regular--and wonderful-- productions.
