My nephew is turning 9 in a week and I don't really want to have a party per se. I'd like to take he and a few (4 or 5) close friends to an activity...but I am lacking ideas. I live in a pretty big metropolitan area so I'm sure there's lots to do I just am new with the kid planning thing. Thanks

Our son turned 11 today. We threw a party for the adults in our family to attend at our pizza shop a couple of days ago & we're having a party at chuckecheese tonight for his freinds. When he turned nine, we threw a pirate party at our local YMCA.

How about a sporting event, my son is 8 and loves Hockey, Football, Baseball, and wrestiling (ughhhhh)---so maybe you could take them out to eat and a game--have the sporting event announce his birthday (our local games do this)
