I had a friend who had a problem with Vicodin. I think your best bet would be to contact your doctor and be completely and totally honest with him or her about what is going on. Vicodin can be very habit forming and if you are having all those side effects you need to take control and tell your doctor. Your doctor can get you the help that you need. I hope this helps you out. Good Luck

If you take any medication tha is not an antibiotic, and you do so for a long time, you will have withdrawal symptoms, contrary to popular belief. This is called physical dependence and is SEPARATE from addiction. The best way to come off any medication is through a weaning process. So if you can refill your vicodin, do so. Then, using your calendar...set goals for how many pills you take a day. If you have to break a vicodin in half you are not in any danger. As you come off the vicodin be sure to replace it with something for a while, like antihistamines. The antihistmines will keepthe secondary bounce back head congestion down to a dull roar. take otc sleep preps for your insominia, Take aspirin for your headaches. There doesn't seem to be any reason for your stopping suddenly. Wean slowly. You have been taking them for 8 months, allow time to pass as your body adjusts. Don't be in such a hurry. You will have greater success if you don't fall prey to that word "addict".

Addiction is a not the same as physical dependence.

Go cold turkey! Either with a freind or at a detox center.(The free one sprobably wont take you as it is not heroin) After a couple days the symptoms should subside....Not the mental addiction that takes a lot longer!

If you do it on your own take a good multi vitamin & extra high dose of B Complex to help your nerves Drink lots of water.

Good luck!

No wonder you're so happy!

Withdrawal is not easy, but it seems like you are on the right track. Perhaps an in-patient rehab would be best.

It would be best if you contact your physician and come clean with your addiction. Secondly, you might try attending AA/NA on a regular basis..
