You always see people dressing up as the Devil/Satan so why don't people Honor Jesus by dressing like him on Halloween?

My mom's boyfriend dressed up like him one Halloween, cross and all, and his beard was even real because this was back in the 70's and he was a big old hippie. The funny part is he's Jewish, just like Jesus himself!!! I think most people get all freaked out about being sacrilegious or blasphemous or whatever because they don't want to stir up controversy, although I don't get why dressing up like Jesus would be controversial. You're right, Satan is way more controversial. And yet people get all butthurt if you dress up like a religious figure. My friend got sent home in high school for coming as a nun. Well, a pregnant nun. You know, I think that made all the difference...

Most likely, it doesn't happen often because dressing up in this sense is not really meant to be an "honor." Christians would likely be offended at impressions of Jesus running door to door begging for candy. It probably falls in the same category as people dressing up like Indians for sports mascots...kind of tacky.
Though, I actually HAVE seen people dressed as Jesus and other religious figures.

my sister was at a halloween party this weekend and she took a picture of a guy dressed as jesus. also, last year a friend dressed as jesus/elvis "the king of kings" so, people DO dress as jesus... probably just not as often. since halloween is a pagan holiday.... maybe people think it is more fun to dress more pagan or secular.

Think about it. Does the devil REALLY have red horns and a pointy tail? Probably not...people are just afraid to dishonor Jesus because no one really knows what he looks like except for a beard/mustache and a white robe.

I dressed up as Jesus a few years ago, but there were people at the party on mushrooms and they started tripping out! I guess it was a pretty good costume!

Well for one thing Halloween is a Pagan thing...and second how would we know how to dress like him when no one has ever seen him (if he does exsist) to do this...

Uhm yeah, my roommates and like 7 of their buddies did this in 2001. They even built crosses for the event.

to day at my school they did and i was mad because now body can be as perfect of Jesus and Jesus is against Halloween that's part of the devils holiday getting kids harmed nobody should impersonate God
