I was married for 18 years to a verbally and controlling man, I wasnt allowed to work, now that I'm finally away from him, I am unable to find a job nobody will hire me, due to my lack of work experience they will not even give me a chance.. I just recently got my learners permit to learn how to drive.. I wasnt allowed to go anywhere or learn to drive either.. How do I get someone to hire me or at least give me a chance?

I'd say that the best way to start is by getting your food handlers permit.. Then get a job at McDonalds working there and after you have worked there for a while you then will have a GREAT refrence i know of many businesses that if they dont see a mcdonalds type place on the resume they wont hire. try there and then you will be amazed at the doors that will open.. if you are in the washington area the mcdonalds that i am working at is hirring.. $7.65 an hour.. if you need help getting on your feet give me a call. washington is a great place to live and start a new life. i also had a mom who was controlled FOREVER and has finally broken away to here!

Ouch. Good thing you got the hell out of there. The best thing to do right now is find a community college and take a diploma program that interests you. You might find work in trades or even health care. There's always a demand for that.

Well, if you are not able to find a job, you might try to go back to school or get some training to acquire marketable skills.
