Where can I go to learn to speak "Beautician"?

Question

It doesn't matter what I say or even if I have a picture of what I want they never come close to coloring or styling like I want. It's not rocket science...short brown hair.....blonde highlights..... whats the problem?

hey im a hairstylist! you can always use visuals like pictures out of magazines! the stylist should be honest with you like if your hair doesnt suit the hairstyle or your hair wont reach that colour tone! hope i helped! even if its 200 pics like you like the fringe on one the colour on another etc etc thats the only way they can see what you are thin king and ask for a thourough consultation which you should be given anyway but some ppl dont! xxx good luck xx

The picture is a plus but always ask them will my hair do this? Trust me from experience if my clients show me a picture their hair will never do because they have thin and picture is thick hair or vice versa, I tell them. Some don't even know they just go for it. Ask questions and see if they know what they are talking about, a stumbler does not.

next time try bringing in a picture from a magazine of what you want.

you should find a new beautician....if you bring a pic and they still can't do it they don't have the proper training.....I've brought some crazy picture to my stylist and she does it exaclty

Beauty school can teach you this lingo--but can be very costly. Community colleges often have seminars or one time courses that you can take to learn the basics.
