I get frustrated too. I know that they are older, but if they are going to drive, they need to know the rules of the road.

There is nothing wrong with feeling an emotion. They are yours and yours alone. What is right or wrong is acting upon that emotion.
First of all, it's the passing lane NOT the fast lane. While some lanes say slower traffic keep right, that doesn't mean that the left is the "fast" lane.
I have no problem with it being older people doing it, I have problems with everyone in the passing lane that isn't passing. If you don't need to be in that lane to turn left, then you need to move to a different lane. This is not only out of courtesy for other drivers but a safety concern as well. When people are clogging up the passing lane without passing others then it causes all sorts of congestion for emergency vehicles that need to get by quickly.

You have the right to get frustrated with any person driving too slow in the fast lane. But it isn't always the elderly that are driving slow in that lane... And remember next time you see an elderly person in the fast lane that you think is going to slow... Just remember that will be you someday in the future... I know that while driving when I am in a hurry I think that everyone is in the way....

It isn't wrong to get frustrated when anyone is driving slow in the fast lane. However, hopefully you can take a deep breath, listen to some music and remain calm until you can pass them safely.

No, I don't think it's wrong. I get frustrated with them too, not just because they are impeding the flow of traffic, but because it worries me that they are driving on the freeway when they are so obviously not able to manage the higher speeds. I know it can take much longer to get anywhere using surface streets, but it has to be a safer alternative.
Getting old really sucks in so many ways, but one of the worst has to be the loss of independence when an older person can't drive themselves any longer. I don't blame people for not wanting to give up driving, but when they reach a point where they start to endanger themselves, or others, and they still don't stop, it's scary. People who drive too slowly on freeways cause as many accidents as those who drive too fast.

now a days, they r starting to realize that the elderly shouldn't be driving. i get frustrated when any slow person drives in the left lane. and it's etiquette to move out of the way when someone comes up behind u and wants to pass u up, i hate when they don't move out of the way. my freeway has 3 lanes, i hate when big rigs take up the first 2 lanes, that only leaves one lane for cars to drive on.

It's easy to become frustrated, but I think you need to realize that the law will eventually catch up with them, if they are doing incorrect actions on the roads. Thankfully we do have laws against impaired driving. Like everyone has credit scores, we all have driving records, as well. We have to continue to prove ourselves to keep our driving privilege. If they make mistakes on the road, then they will eventually get their license taken away.
I do agree that the older we all get, the more often we need to be passing driving tests, not to just wait for an accident to happen...because it will, but to have more "preventative" type laws.
I do feel that all main roads (not side streets/communities) need to have a minimum speed limit, because the accordion effect happens from people driving various speeds from 10 to 40 on, for example, a 40mph zone, then that's where rear-ending, or more severe accidents happen.

No! You are young and speed is what you like, You have an option of passing them and moving on. Why would you be frustrated when you have an option, It does not take long for you to be old. The way we treat our old will eventually speak how we will be treated when we get there.
Calm down....oooooooooom!

I get this every day and i feel soooo angry.. I overtake them and I remind myself that when I get 60 I need to quit driving.
A friend of mine had an accident waiting at the traffic light because a 75 year old man had a heart attack while driving and crashed into her. Old drivers are a menace..incidentally my 76 year old grandmother still drives and refuses to quit..

No, I'm sorry but I believe once a person becomes a certain age say 60--they should have to take their drivers lisencse test again. Some people aren't capable of taking care of themselves, but they are still allowed to drive.
