Do all killers, molesters, drug-addicts, thieves, priests, nuns, holy-men, and adherants to all faiths in the world share this commen bond of trying to cure the inner-pain of uncertianty?

Is it possible that some peoples inner pain could be more severe and therefore make them more desperate than some others?

If so, than how do we possibly... treat each other.. so badly?

Are'nt all people doing the things they do because they believe it will make the pain go away?

I'm sure this is why some people seek religion. But I don't think the reason others seek religion is connected to how we treat eachother.

That's not why I have certain religious beliefs or seek to enhance my spirituality.

I simply remember how at one with nature I was when I was a small child. That peace and contentment and innate knowledge that I was an animal that came from the same source as everything. You lose that growing up and becoming self aware. I think religion is often an attempt to spiritually seek that same peaceful "oneness" with nature or "God" feeling many people remember having at some point.

We treat one another badly because it's our innate nature. We have what is called the reptile part of the brain. It makes us aggressive, territorial, and apt to create social hierarchy. We're mean to one another because we're fighting (on teams) to create social hierarchy that puts our team at the top and in power. It's just instinctive human nature.

That's why we treat eachother so badly.

Religion is certain more of a psychological crutch, whereas crime is often a response to a physical need. There is also the difference of the effect of your actions on others. Crimes seem to have a more immediate effect on others.

Interesting comparison.

I suppose you're right. Religion is comforting because we all fear the unknown. We treat each other badly because it's in our nature to be that way, however we know right from wrong and that is not an excuse.
