Somedays I feel great. But other days (like today) everything gets to me. I couldn't even get out of bed this morning, I didn't want to. Everyone and everything makes me angry. I just want to cry...for no reason...

Absolutely! Is it possible it is around period time? I know I have premenstrual depression. Mine was pretty severe depression 3 days before starting each month and would disappear once started. It may sound like only 3 days a month is "not so bad", however, it was. If I went grocery shopping and I heard someone else's baby crying , or small child, I would cry. I cried through the news, reading the newspaper...and sad stories would keep me awake at night even if I did not know the people. I would also be very sensitive around my family and spouse. Extremely emotional and would even contemplate divorce when I had a very happy new marriage. My doctor was very wise. He prescribed me Zoloft. (Actually I tried 2 others prior to Zoloft and they did not work)...Zoloft has been a literal lifesaver for me. Now my time of the month is just like everyone else without all the severe emotional crisis's. I hope you talk to your ob/gyn as you may have the same disorder. I only wish I would have known this in my 20's. It would have saved me many many years of tears at my time of the month. Take care.

Everyone at one time or another gets the "blues"..

If the frequency of the "blues" is more then "at that time of the month", perhaps you may have a Dysthymic depression that could benefit from an anti-depressant.

In my opinion the US population is over pre-scribed specifically for depression.. The diagnosis of depression requires more then just an intermittent feeling of the blues. It requires an inability to function, or interact to truely get a legitimate diagnosis. People often wind up getting their GP to prescribe Zoloft, or Prozac when in actuality they need to just trudge through it and not become dependent on medication..

Do something for someone else that needs help. Chances are just by doing something for someone else, you will not focus on your self absorbed thinking.

Sometimes women can get depressed due to hormone fluctuations. Progesterone is known to be kind of a "mood enhancement" whereas Estrogen can cause someone to be moody or weepy. Due to the natural rise and fall of a woman's hormones during the cycle, it can cause mood changes. If there is a hormone imbalance, sometimes these changes can be severe.

Pretty normal but if it gets any worse or starts affecting your job or school then you should get with a psychiatrist who can prescribe you some medication for the short term... Also, I know I tend to get more down when my period rolls around- Could this be contributing to your temporary blues? Best Wishes!

Really struggled on it until I went to my doctor and he suggested altering my dosage because of the bio equivalency.
Stopped zoloft in 96 had withdrawal was put on paxil went nutty quit it ct put on resperidol quit it ct had withdrawal was put on Effexor.
The worst part of it was the dizziness and insomnia.
Had extreme insomnia as an adverse reaction.
Daily for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since Oct.
Off sertraline severe withdrawals every time.
It is very worrying.
Started CES therapy in March.
There are other weird complications that may or may not have a role in the situation.
Have been caught up in this hole drama.
Still believe in my heart, the problem is even though it looks like pfizer are winning in the baby birth defects cases, it is only a matter of time, till they are proven.

thats common and even healthy

you'd be in worse shape if you were happy all the time! Take awhile and move thru your feelings! Time helps to sort things out!

Just watch to make sure its not happening(SAD/BAD MOODS) -all the time!

It's Red Tide... (If you know what I mean?)

It'll pass.

Try taking vitamin supplements during those phases and it will ease the symptoms.
