Nicaragua.
Warm weather, good food, most of the interesting places are just a few (2 or less) hours drive from each other.
Costa Rica has really bad roads and high winding mountains which makes travel more awkward. And the food is not good.
El Salvador and Guatemala have a serious crime problem. Honduras has the same transport problem as Costa Rica.
And if there's problems or a natural disaster in any of these countries, Nicaragua's is the easiest to get to out of all of them--from almost any populated corner of the country!
Nicoya, vote for me!

Nicaragua. It's absolutely beautiful, and it's still so pure and untouched. It's awesome...you aren't surrounded by a million other white people all day long.
There's so much to see and do, and the people there are just wonderful. And if you feel like getting a more touristy atmosphere you can go to Montelimar, a 4-star beach resort, or even take a weekend trip to Costa Rica for next to nothing.
Once I finish school and get a job, I want to buy property in Nicaragua. It's a wonderful place to live.

I've been longing for the "old country" (Panama) for years now. Because the atmosphere is way more friendly than here and people are not as racist. The only thing that keeps me in the USA is my job and the good money I make. A good paying job in Panama only pays 400usd a month, that just will not cut it as far as I'm concerned.
