Should I or not, I have WMP 10 and Win-amp I heard horror stories.
should I get the player.
any Input will be appreciated.

I use windows media player 11 plus the free version of DFX and it ROCKS. I don't know anything about winamp but if you like it ..use it.

Those horror stories are most likely true. I've read on CNet.com, ZDnet.com and TechRepublic.com some really BAD horror stories. I'm opting to stay with WMP 10.
Most of M$'s latest greatest (I.E.: WMP 11, IE 7, etc.) are designed to work the best with Vista anyway. There is NO way I'm going to spend that much money on Vista when it's reviews are so bad, so far. I'm waiting, at least, until NO one supports XP any more.
I suggest you go to these sites and sign up for their newsletters so you can learn more about the IT world and attempt to keep up with it.

Well, it depends. I was using WMP 10 till last night. I installed WMP 11 and its really good. Initially I installed the WMP 11 (Beta) version. It had a lot of bugs. Now, I'm sure its a lot better.
When you get accustomed to a certain player, you find it really difficult to operate a new one. There are quite a few changes in WMP 11. Use it for a few days, and you'll like it.

For me NO, because I don't have the original version of Windows so I can't get this new player version.

I wasn't going to get it, but I downloaded it and I like it better than 10.
