well when fired from a close distance say 400 to 500 metres its lethal, it can very easily destroy a humvee with one hit,it also lethal when fired at infantry as the shrapnel it lets of when it explodes can do serious damage to life and limbs, a bit like a land mine, although it was built in the 1960,70's it still remains a very lethal and formiddable weapon to this very day, i think they will be around for years to come.

The RPG-7 is perhaps one of the greatest portable rocket systems ever developed. It destroy or demobilize almost any vehicle on the battlefield. The versatility is very impressive. Along with the warheads you metion, there are many others including smoke and gas warheads. During the Russian invasion, the Mujihadeen leared to modify the RPG for use against helicoptors.
It is lighter than many western counterparts, and unlike many other infantry rocket systems used today it is not a one shot and throw away weapon.
Like many infantry weapons to come out of the Soviet Union, it was designed to be used by men who are technologically experianced. It is a simple weapon to use. Basic use of the weapon can be taught quickly and easily. Its wide spread availabilty also makes it a useful weapon system to employ as spare parts and ammunition are easily obtained. It is also substantially cheaper than most other systems.
It does have some downsides compared to western system. It is not the most accurate of weapon systems and fire teams must employe a shoot and move technique since its firing signiture and smoke trail point out where the shooter is. The cost-effectiveness of the system outweighs these issues however.
There are other version than the RPG-7 to be found, but I think none are as prolific or as useful as the version 7.

They have been a devastating force since the invention of the bazooka and the germans panzerfaust in WWII. The RPG's are what keep Israel from completely dominating Palestine just a few months ago.
It is a constant race between tank developers and RPG makers. The armor folks need to develop thicker and stronger armor any time an RPG gets more powerful. It is a lot cheaper to make RPG's than armored vehicles, so it acts as a massive drain on the economy.

They come in various warheads but most come in the hollow charge anti-tank warhead version and are capable of punching through 6-15 inches of armor plate. These weapons are quite deadly there only draw back is there accuracy sucks you have to be very close to get a solid hit. The little dinky warhead is the frag grenade version the big rocket is the tank killer and bunker buster. The newest rpg's are US made and can explode over a enemy position. the newest will be the most dangerous as it will also improve the accuracy of such weapons and remove traditional places of cover such as walls or behind tanks.

They really do the job....
With a armoured vehicle if an RPG hits it (its a new RPG) it will totally destroy it... The older RPG's soviet ones need a good hit to destroy a vehicle....
Yes grenades for RPG's are different but they are not bunker busters.... ..
The grenades that destruct over or close to the enemy are more lethal....

RPG's are dangerous and highly capable of inflicting damage and casulties. What do I think of them? I think there is a good reason why US forces don't rely on them as heavily as ,lets say , terrorists. Any idiot can operate an rpg launcher, and it doesn't take much skill or practice to be succesful with this weapon.I think those that rely on such a weapon are chickenshits, and I know for a fact they don't stack up well against a platoon of Army or Marines. You ever notice how those weasals pop their heads out, take a pot-shot with their rpg's and then run and hide? RPG's are for *******.

Depends on the application. You have stated correctly several types of RPGs. Which is more destructive & lethal depends on properly using the appropriate type.

No same warhead, but adaptable to use against multiple targets. Uses a shaped charge warhead.
