Okay... so I have naturally curly hair so I understand your troubles with straightening your hair. The heat is very damaging, so you are right, you should not be washing your hair daily. Most hair stylists recommend washing your hair every two to three days. You should brush it with a boar bristle brush inbetween washings to help distribute the natural oils from your scalp to the ends of your hair. This is much healthier for your hair than any conditioner. To combat the greasy look you can brush in a bit of baby powder or corn starch to absorb the excess oil. If you try this regimen, I am sure you will notice your hair will gradually get healthier and adjust to fewer washings. Good luck!

Ok, First since your hair is damaged, get a good trim to get rid of split ends. Use a seperate shampoo and condtioner, and use for normal to oily type. Then try using a conditioner on the ends not at the scalp where your hair gets oily (this will help your scalp not be as oily). If your ends get really really dry, try a hot oil treatment every couple of months, only on the ends and wrap in a plastic bag to help the heat stay in. I myself have long (About 20 inches)straight hair, I wash it every two days or when needed and never use a blow dryer. I brush it only when dry, doing so when wet causes stress on your hair. If you have waves or some curly parts in your hair you might try John Freida's "Frizz Ease"

I do the same thing! If you can, use a hair dryer ... It's healthier. I wash my hair on day one, use a LITTLE syrum straighten stuff, and blow dry. The second day, I don't wash my hair and I let it go a little natural, like waves, or I straighten it with a straightener. As long as you throughly wash your hair you should be totally set for two days, but no more than two. That's just yucky.

I have you excat same problem. These are some solutions:
1) Use a straighting shampoo or a deep cleaning shampoos.
2) When you are doing your hair....instead of using a straighter use lo'real straighting cream then blow dry with a paddle brush. It gives you more volume (it will probaly look something like Aubrey off of Making the Band 3:Danity Kane)
3) try working your way from showering every day. Start waiting maybe a day and 1/2 then try two days.
hope it helps.

Try Lee Stafford dry shampoo it's great for between washes, it's a spray that you put on then rub in and it makes your hair go like it's just been washed but without wetting it so it doesn't need straightening either. you can get it in boots it's in a luminous pink can! it works REALLY well, try it it's fab!!!Also try GHD straightening oil mist when you do use your straighteners it protects your hair and makes it soft!

I have to wash my hair everyday!!! and yes straighting is a must nowadays. I would highly recommend chemically straightening your hair. It actually does less damage than ironing it everyday. I also use a product called K-Pak that helps reconstruct your damaged hair.

you need to invest in a good pair of straightners like mine, i use mine everyday then on the weekend say let my hair do as it pleases, i wash my hair every other day! Try hair spray before using your straighters its acts as a barrior and protects your hair!

Because of your age your skin and scalp will produce more oil, it's your hormones. This is why your hair goes greasy really fast if you don't wash it.
