Speak to your physician; he/she knows you best and can recommend the appropriate suppliment. DO NOT just go to the health food store and buy some "alternative" product - it's liable to be contaminated and may not even HAVE any potassium in it. And every person's an individual, so what would be a proper suppliment for me might well NOT be appropriate for you. Again, your physician is the person to ask, without exception.

Potatoes are the second best source of potassium other than a banana.

You can try an OTC prenatal vitamin. They are good, or GNC has ultramega for women. Wonderful vitamin and boosts your energy level too!! I love it. Definitely worth the price and if you can catch it on sale...go for it. Also, potassium is one of the nutrients that a good portion of US women lack, most mult-vitamin supplements try to account for that. Any women's m/v should have higher levels of potassium.

potatoes are pretty high; you may need a Dr.'s prescription; it is nothing to play with; I take a potassium supplement daily; without it you can have all sorts of problems including irregular heartbeat

Salt substitutes contain potassium.
I was surprised by these high-potassium foods: salmon, brazil nuts, and baked potato with the skin.
Take a look at this web page for a long list.
