My son started having seizures 2 months ago. i thought it was from a car wreck. They claim they are psychopsymatic. It is something in his mind causing it. He has really bad headaches that don't go away and sometimes his eyes will actually magnify things he sees. I am trying to find someone else who has dealt with this situation before. he has to have 24/7 supervision.

My niece started the same thing after a car accident her seizures are violent -she also is on disability now because she can not work or drive until they are under control. She has seen different Md's and tried different med combos. She just got married and hopes the Army Md's (husband in army)can help her because all the specialists in IL. couldn't figure it out. I wish your son luck it is very depressing especially when the seizures are daily and you can not function. My niece said when she is stressed she gets them more often. Its been three years, and the seizures started 9 months after accident, she had a neck and back injury.

David B is quit correct in his explanation of the diagnosis. Be sure that you have obtained a complete Nero workup before you call in the phych. troops. I would recommend taking him to a large teaching hospital and having him worked up there. Yes it will involve hanging around in a lot of waiting rooms. But if the neurology department of the nearest medical school says he does not have a neuro problem then and only then would I move to a psychiatrist.

I am a paramedic and we have a pt that we see on a regular basis for years with pseudo seizures. The pt has never complained of a headaches or hallucinations. Seek the advice of another physician if you haven't had a consult with a neurosurgeon. get one.

oh dear youve got trouble. the term pseudo means that the docs believe hes not having actual seizures, hes producing them for secondary gain, or for some other reason. Need to get second neuro opinion, then its off to the psychiatrist.
