Someone told me that getting off and having an orgasm are 2 different things?? Is this true? If so what IS the difference???

Hi luv!

Well to answer your question as simply as possible, I'd have to say this:

An ORGASM is what a woman would experience, once she is completely free and confident with the partner she's with... We're talking the true, real, earth shaking mind shattering orgasm here, not the small little ones...


Getting Off would be more what a male orgasm is like; a satisfying quicky, if you will...

Of course there are MANY aspects to observe when talking about this kind of thing, but basically an orgasm is a powerful thing which takes time and effort... and more time to come back from! Getting off sounds more like a quicky for easy gratification/satisfaction purposes... Which is why I used the example of the male versus the female orgasm...

Note that sometimes with my hubby, I can get "get offs" (quicky little micro orgasms) and his own orgasms are most of the time the earth-shattering type; you can hear his screams of excstacy from miles away!

There is no difference. Getting off is just slang for having an orgasm
