BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. troops on Tuesday abandoned checkpoints around the Shiite militia stronghold of Sadr City on orders from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the latest in a series of moves by the Iraqi leader to assert his authority with the U.S. administration.

The U.S. military announced the deaths of two soldiers in fighting in the Baghdad area on Monday, one from small arms fire, the other from a roadside bomb. Those brought the number of troops killed in Iraq this month to *103*.

U.S. forces disappeared from the checkpoints within hours of the order to remove the around-the-clock barriers by 5:00 p.m., setting off celebrations among civilians and armed men gathered on the edge of the sprawling slum that is under the control of the Mahdi Army militia run by radical anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. The United States military is worried about Muqtada al-Sadr due to him being able to take on and hurt the USA military. Muqtada al-sadr stated the USA will lose the war.

Let us see the fabrication that he attempts this time...
"The United States military is worried about Muqtada al-Sadr due to him being able to take on and hurt the USA military. Muqtada al-sadr stated the USA will lose the war."
You see.. this NEVER appears in the REAL article which can be found here http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/31/AR2006103100452.html

Once again erudite is exposed as the fabricator and liar that he has been shown to be time and time again

The US troops did as they were ordered. The Iraqi Prime Minister obviously feels that he has the situation under control. That is EXACTLY what we want them to do....to take control. Whether or not it was a bad move or not, isn't for us to decide. The only thing that's important is that they're trying to run their own country and contain the terrorism.

Of course, this article comes with some of your typical fabrications and lies. Instead of just posting the actual article, you've added your own words and omitted others. You're quite pathetic that you can't even prove your point honestly. Only a coward and a loser would have to cheat and lie to try to prove a point or push a cause.

The current administration told commanders to pull their troops back because it's election time and since the body count is already high for October they are trying to wait until the month ends before risking more deaths. All BS

The whole idea is to get the Iraqis to take care of their own. The Prime Ministr ordered it and it is his country, evidently he thinks they can take care of it.

Because in order to do anything without the PM's consent, we have to have either UN or NATO approval; I forget which one. If we go without either, then we've entered a new level of occupation.

The only two defining forces that have ever offered to die for you was Jesus Christ and the American soldier.
One died for you soul and the other for your freedom.

Never forget God and Country!

We won't lose the war.

Plus - Iraq obviously can't take over yet. One day they don't want us to leave - the next they are going to do it themselves.

So why are you complaining?
