Think of something positive that would get past your pain. I don't know if you believe in God or in prayer but it works to that is if you actually believe in the higher power. I went through the same problem and I put every thing known to man on my tooth and I also had a root canal and that same tooth pulled. They told me to put food coloring on it and orajel and it worked for a minute. Just think positive when you are on your way getting pulled. Just think of the thing that makes you at peace trust it works. It will be over before you know it.

I had a root canal a few years back and I had to wait two days in horribel pain. The doctor told me if i needed extra pain relief, take a differnt kind of pain reliever. Such as aleve and tylenol because they have differnt active ingredients. If water helps, try swishing it in your mouth but not swallowing it. Otherwise, I say take some kind of PM medicine and go to sleep until you have to leave. Time will pass much faster. Good luck!

Hello:
Set your alarm for when you need to leave for your appointment.
Now, set down and imagine you just won a 100 million dollar lottery. How would you spend it (getting your tooth to stop hurting is probably first on the list)?
Would you start any special types of foundations and if so, what type of people would they help. Would you give the money out yourself or would you hire others?
Do you like to travel, if so, what types of trips would you take and where would you go. In your travels, what type of mementos would you bring back? Who would you take on these trips? Would you go to the tropics, the mountains, the sea, the desert, the snow, or to the cities of the world?
Let your imagination flow. Good luck.

You more than likely have an abscess. Antibiotics should clear up the infection and help with the pain...I don't however know if they will give you immediate relief or not. You may want to have your dentist call some in for you.

Honestly I have two recommendations but have to say "Ask your doctor" before doing them lol:
You can take 800 mg Ibuprofin every 4 hours..not more often! That is max prescrip dose.
Every two hours after the motrin you can take tylenol.
Lastly, keep your mouth open. When you close your mouth, use use suction to keep it closed. Try keeping your mouth open.

they actually will probaly give you a prescription, so that'd be good, and they numb before they pull it, so as soon as they put the stuff on the qtip thingy, and rub it on ur gum, around the tooth theyre pulling, itll start feeling better, then they get the needle thing, and that kinda stings, but nothing you can't handle...then thye wait until ur numb, and itll be like your whole side of ur mouth, your tongue, and your lips will be numb, then theyll get the tools, and pull it...i would tell u what the tools looked like, but when they pulled one of mine, i closed my eyes, when he got the needle, and i didn't open my eyes until he said he was done, and i mean, you feel it, but its not that bad. i gagged on the water, before they could asperate, or whatever...but, i can't stand the sight of blood, so i had my eyes closed...itll be fine...just stay calm, because the more you freak out, the worse itll end up seeming. good luck!

i'm surprised that you are allowed to be drinking or eating anything, aren't you getting anesthesia? call the dentist and one of the people behind the counter can help you with the problem until you get there
