prices at garages?

Why do we allow ourselves to be ripped of at garages, if you happen to stop at a motorway service station, firstly the prices are a disgrace, and second the food has been under those awful lights for I don't know how long, and tastes of cack...then if you go to the petrol side and buy a sandwich or drink they are more than 50% higher than anywhere else, and yet people still insist on buying, I say boycott them , this way they would be forced to charge a more realistic price...
Do you agree, and are you like me fed up with them, oh and I am a trucker, so I know what I am talking about..

Their main fayre isn't petrol, there isn't a great profit on fuel as the taxman takes it, but food, the profits are enormous

Oh yes, you're right that the prices are higher than elsewhere
and the quality of food isn't any better. I think it's more of the
convenience to people who just come in for the fuel to grab
something for a bite. There will be some people always buying
anything for the sake of convenience even if it's costing more.
As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't buy any of those when I
come in for the refuel. I'll just avoid it and leave quietly without
any fuss.

Venting is a good thing. I agree about the prices and quality of their side offered products, their main fare is of course fuel......If I wanted eggs Benedict, I wouldn't go to Waffle House.

I feel your pain but the problem is that it is a matter of convenience. People are going to buy that crap, someone will, no matter what is done. Unfortunately our country seems to be predominately about bigger, better, faster and right this very minute.
I do drive across town for cheaper gas though!
