Jesus DOESN'T exist. You can't "make" Jesus exist by saying "atheists fight against him and wouldn't have a fight without him". It's not about a "fight". There's nothing to fight and you need to correct your vision because you're seeing things that aren't there.

I think you're a little confused. Something certainly does not have to exist to not believe in it. You don't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, do you? Still, I think we can argue it does not exist. We definitely cannot prove it DOES exist.

If there were no belief in a god or gods, there would be no atheists.

In addition, atheists do not believe in God. Jesus really has nothing to do with it. Oh, but you all mix up the two, don't you...

Please keep in mind that we're not a-Jesusists. We're atheists.

Also, to an atheist Jesus did not exist as anything beyond a normal person (I'll leave it to others who want to contest that the historical Jesus existed). You should reword your question to say what you mean.

Finally, I was quite fond of your implication that atheist are just obstinate jerks who are only looking for something to fight. What if I had asked the question "If the Bible didn't exist, what book would Christians use to think for them?" I think that would fairly offensive.

We would continue our lives the same way we do now.

It's not that we choose not to believe simply because someone does believe. People have a skewed idea that we are Atheists to be "different" or "not follow the majority". We choose not to believe because we don't think there is a God, Jesus, and that the Bible isn't true. We don't believe because we don't think there is any proof of Jesus and God.

Since we don't believe there is a Jesus now, our views would simply be the EXACT same, only we would be the "majority" since the basis of Christianity is that Jesus is the savior.

Atheism isn't just the non-belief in Jesus. Actually an atheist can still believe that Jesus was a real person. It's more that he isn't God and that God doesn't exist.

But everyone is an atheist to some degree. Even a christian is an atheist to every other God but the one that they believe in.

An atheist just believes in one less God than the rest of the population.

True Atheism (not just the rabid anti-Christianism here on these boards/ the internet) is a universal denial of anything outside the limits of human analysis. Christianity has nothing to do with it in philosophy. Historically, however, Atheism is entirely an anti-Christian/anti-church movement.

If Jesus did not exist then the Athiests would not have been here either and therefore everything would have been void.
