I know how you feel and this is very hard to overcome. Just pray to God and ask for spiritual healing. This is Satan using his tool of Guilt to take over you. Just pray for his forgiveness and know that is is done and overwith after that. Just let it go and everytime you think of it again, pray!
God Bless and I'll pray for ya!

Forgiving ones self takes time that's the only thing that will help. I did something Evil 13 yrs ago. It took me 10 yrs before I felt I could forgive myself. The best advice I can give you is go on from here, realize that you made a bad choice and learn from it. Improve yourself, if your Christian, Jewish or Islamic. Read the Scriptures in them you will find the answers to your problem and it will strengthen you so when the time comes it will be easier, I promise.

Do it with His help.. Making things right is what He helps you do...You will feel the energy leave if you have truely asked for forgiveness//otherwise it keeps you from Him.. The other people involved the energy stops haunting them as well...The chains it caused are around your heart and He is in your heart so you chain Him if you do not forgive..Includes yourself..ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU,, You can use the Violet Flame: I AM a being of Violet fire I AM the purity God desires..over and over untill you feel it has been burned off (there is gonna be more than the thing you talk about though..don't stop untill your gold..for me it has been years already..You know when you are fre of sin when you are Home..)

A very good question...I think the first place to start is to look at what 'Forgiveness' means. One of my favorite quotes is "forgiveness is letting go of the hope that the past could be any different". Which can be quite a challenge but it is the way to freedom - which you deserve for whatever you did.
I don't think that its possible to forgive yourself (or anyone else) without the help of Jesus. All you have to do is ask for his help, and let go. If you do not let go, he can not help you.
His forgiveness is not conditional...all you have to do is ask and let go. Remember that you he had forgiven you before you did the deed.

You may not be able to forgive yourself without asking for forgiveness. Write a letter confessing what you have done and write about how sorry you are for it, and the way it has affected your life. If there is no one to give it to, reading your own words may help you realize that you have learned from your mistake and help you to move on. Volunteer some of your time somewhere to pay back the fates.

Light a candle and imagine the person (if it is a person) you hurt to be sitting in front of you. Explain why you did what you did and promise not to do it again. Ask for his forgiveness. Then, also aloud, say something in this vein: if I an certain that Jesus have forgiven me then who am I not to forgive myself. I fully forgive myself for (specify what). Try to mean it.
Then think of something useful you can do for the community, for a charity, for someone else. Make a specific plan for it, including the length of your project. Know that you are doing it to make amends for your misguided deed. Then follow it through and know that after you have finished the project you will have completely forgiven yourself. Best of wishes!

You don't have to do it by yourself. You almost have to do it with His help. To forgive oneself is very hard, or at least that is my experience. We are always harder on ourselves than we would be on others, had they done the exact same thing we are trying to forgive ourselves for. We also tend to think that forgiveness is for everyone else except us. Remembering that we (as individuals) count too is important. I wish I could tell you exactly how to do it, but I don't know myself. I just try to remember that if necessary He would have died just for me - even if everyone else in the whole world were perfect. Then I try to remember that I would probably forgive someone else if they had sinned in this manner, and so what's the difference between them and me - as long as I have repented of it. It sometimes takes a long time to forgive oneself. I have a particular deed I'm trying to repent of and forgive myself for too.
Prayer always seems to help.

Acceptance is the key in forgiveness. You must accept that you are just human who commits mistakes and commiting mistakes is just an essential trait of mankind. You must see life on a long-term; thus realizing that you cannot dwell on something that you have done. Commiting mistakes is not the end of one's life. It is just the start of something new because you would have to rise after tumbling down and go on with a learning. If Jesus can forgive, why can't you do it.

Matthew 6:14,15:
14 “For if YOU forgive men their trespasses, YOUR heavenly Father will also forgive YOU; 15 whereas if YOU do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will YOUR Father forgive YOUR trespasses.
Forgiveness is really important to our own spiritual health, it says above that if you do this your heavenly father Will forgive you.
I have included a link I think you will find helpful;

It is refreshing to see someone that is thinking about doing what is pleasing to God. It is not always easy to do this in our troubled world but rest assured that you are not alone, there are many people that are striving to do better including myself. It takes constant effort but you will not be sorry because every step you make draws you closer to you heavenly father and he does care for you.

One doesnot forgive oneself. One overcomes the negative feelings which one suffers out of good conscience. If you believe Jesus will forgive you, if what u did was to someone, then ask the latter for forgiveness, I think you should understand that error is human and not to repeat it is to be wise. Repenting is the greater forgiveness.

Your right that you probably can't forgive yourself on your own. It takes Jesus.
I had the Lord show me that he can fix any wrong, He can put people in the lives that I may have messed up to help them. And that He can heal my mind and spirit.
I think it is like a bandaid on my heart sometimes. When you take it off, the wound is gone. Jesus took stripes for our mental and spiritual healing as well as our physical.
Please remember to pray over yourself the scriptures. Several that help me are these.
For I am more than a conqueror, for I am in Christ.
Jesus will never leave me or forsake me.
No weapon formed against me will prosper
I have not been given a spirit of fear but of love power and a sound mind.
In Ephesians, it says that I can have wisdom and revalation, of who I am in christ, that I can know the depths and heights of His grace and love.
please contact me if you would like to talk more, be blessed in Jesus.
