well in most states(or in all im not sure) there isn't a kill pen for horses any more it's like a pound for dogs. so the prices are going down and quality is goin up...not a good thing for people in the horse industry...(fyi if ur in FFA--buying&selling...not a good SAE!)

I think the biggest change has been in amount of influence the entire world has on the sport.Dubai,Japan,Australia,England,Brazil,Argentina and the United States.All are very active in the industry and the breeding is spread all over so amount of quality horses are coming from everywhere not just Kentucky as in the past.Medicine has come a long way too as well as transportation and conditions for the horses as the laws and rules look out more for the animals today.

Well there has been positive growth overall in the industry! States like MN and IA are becoming more of a factor (small)

Horse medicine is booming---ie BARBARO

more and more females thru-out the sport---as owners, trainers,jockeys,etc.....

Satellite TV has brought racing to the entire world!
