My home made recipe is really easy. First take beef chunks and put into a big pot put a little butter in pan and fry beef till lightly brown. Once done add water, carrots, potatoes, celery, and onions. I add to the pan 3 beef bullion cubes, 1 teaspoon parsley, 1 teaspoon oregano, and 2 bay leaves (do not crush bay leaves as you will take them out of the soup when done and throw away). Cook on stove with lid on pan until potatoes and carrots are done. Serve. I hope this helps. I have never added peppers but will try the next time I do make my stew.

3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 onion, sliced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1/4 teaspoon oregano

Cover and bake about four hours.
If using a slow cooker, which also works well for this dish, set your timer for six to eight hours on the medium setting.

Browing the beef well is a big part of it! I brown it well, add a little water and cook it down again a couple times.. Onions will add lots of flavor, put them in after you start the beef. Then add some water and throw the rest in. If you add canned veggies use the water too. Simmer for a couple hours. We add a little A1 sauce, worchester sauce, ketchup or whatever else we have to taste! Can't have stew without biscuts!!

Rice is a sturdy area, plus serving the stew over the rice is a sparkling thought, serving it in great sized crusty bread rolls so the gravy soaks in to the bread is amazingly yummy, sparkling veggie crammed lettuce salads are sturdy, fruit salads, sparkling biscuits. I wont say potatoes as Im beneficial like maximum stews you extra potatoes to the blend. For my crimson meat stews we've garlic french bread shrink in to thick hunks so we are able to ladle the stew over the perfect, it soaks all that beautiful juice in, and then the garlic style gets in to the stew its soooooo sturdy. I serve a salad with loads of chopped carots, celery, cucumber, peppers, craisins, pecans or honeyroasted almonds and a great easy vinegarette. and of direction a sturdy mugh of mulled warm cider to bathe all of it down
