In your opinion, what is an appropriate bedtime for a 6 and 10 year old?

They get up at 6:30 a.m.

I think one bedtime is best until perhaps the older one is in Jr. High. About 8:00 is a really good time. To give the older one a boost and the younger something to look forward to...jump it up an hour at the Jr. High level.

I would say 8 o'clock for 6 and 8:30 for the 10 year old I depend on how tired they are in the morning and if they are moring kids my son is 8 and goes to bed a 9:00 and get up at 7:30 for school and is never tired but i started his bedtime at eight then went up 15 minutes each week till i found a time that worked Good Luck

For the 6 year old 8:00 to 8:30 and for the 10 year old 9:00 to 9:30.

If they get up at 6 am then for 6 year olds, early bed time, i say mabye 7:30. 10 year olds are a little different they stay up a little later. They probably should go to bed by 8:30 or 9:00.

Personally I'd say....

6 year old - 8pm

10 year old - 9pm - he/she is a little older and should be shown that they can have a little *grown up* time too.

But both to bed by 9 gives the parents some time alone as well for down time before bedtime and if you both work it probably doesn't give you that much time if there are other responsibilties to get done in a household.

Both my 6 yo and 10 yo go to bed at 9:30 on school days and 10:30 on weekends.
