I'm the same so I asked my Dr. and he said that the first trimester is the only time they don't recommend it, but it has to be over 102 degrees for more than 20 min. I also asked about hot tubs, and he said the same about them, but it is not recommended in the last month because if your water breaks, it could be hard to tell. That's why baths (not showers) are not recommended in the last month either. So I think you are fine.

As relaxing as long, steamy showers or a soak in a hot tub can be when your body is feeling the aches and pains of pregnancy, it's best to avoid becoming overheated. Raising your body temperature above 102° Fahrenheit (38.9° Celsius) increases the risk for neural tube defects in the first trimester and dehydration later in the pregnancy.
So try to limit activities that could raise your core temperature too much, including:
using saunas or hot tubs
taking very hot, long baths and showers
Try to stick to warm or only slightly hot baths and showers. And follow your body's cues that you're getting overheated when exercising or enjoying the outdoors. If you've already become overheated, don't worry too much about it. Chances are, you removed yourself from the uncomfortable situation before any damage was done.
Good Luck and Congratulations

Yes, you can have really hot showers while you are pregnant.
It won't hurt the baby in any way, how could it?
Very hot water will lower some people's blood pressure and may make them feel faint. And pregnant women tend to have low blood pressure, so check for that.
But if you're used to the heat and never feel faint when you shower, it will be just fine.
Whatever you put "round" your belly can't hurt your baby. It's probably the possibility of germs getting inside your vagina why you've been told not to use hot tubs. But that won't happen in a shower. Enjoy

Hot SHOWER is OK. Because water starts to cool down already between the shower head and your belly. You should only avoid immerse in hot water that the temperature stays hot, like saunas.

It does matter, because it can cause damage to your unborn baby. You have to consider that your baby is already very warm inside the womb and if you take a very hot shower its going to raise the temperature in there to a unhealthy unsafe degree for the baby. That is why it is advised against.
