It could have been tested on cultures of human skin, that is skin grown in a lab.
Take note, some products say that 'the final product is not tested on animals' but that means the components may have been. Do some research, and don't buy anything from Proctor & Gamble.

Don't be fooled. When a product reads "no animal testing" they usually mean the final product. Products have to go thru a certain amount of animal testing before they ever hit the market.
Some companies state they do no animal testing... because they pay someone else to do it or they make slight changes to an already tested product.
Yes, a vast majority of the preliminary tests are done on various cells in petri dishes. However they do not have the extended makeup that humans and animals do.
Many tests are done on computer programs. I know my computer is smarter than I am -but it does not have a liver or kidneys.

Snails? I have no idea, but seriously. Animal testing is wrong, they don't have a say if they want to be tested or not. I think they should test on humans because humans HAVE the choice; animals don't.
