This could be caused by any one of many things, which just brings up more questions from me. When you installed Office XP, did you completely uninstall all previous versions of Office before installing Office XP? Did you recently install any kind of graphics-intensive software? Something is causing a memory conflict with Office....

yes, another false myth spread around to diss Vista. I've also seen several references to the need to upgrade to Office 2007 when you install Vista. Well, of course you can, but it's by no means a requirement. Office 2003 runs fine on Vista. This bit of misinformation seems to be most often used in articles that inflate the projected cost to deploy Vista; you can make those numbers look higher if you add in the cost of upgrading Office, too. Also, contrary to the rumor that Microsoft made Vista so open source competitors of its office products won't run on it, I had no problems at all installing and running Open Office to open office 2007 files in office 2003, just down load a free update for office 2003 (once) to fix this problem. Then no problem. (see comment below) Clearly a linux user who does not really know.

uh, u didn tel wht OS ur usin.
Wel, if u use Windows 98, then its perfectly alright tht it says so, becuz, all the 'dll' files residin in windows 98 are easily corruptable. So problem is not of your Office XP setup, but of OS.
U hav got probs in Office becuz at run time, it makes use of all the system based dlls and configuration files frm system32 of windows folder.
So all u need to do is, upgrade ur system to Windows XP, preferably with SP2. or Reinstall windows 98 with last option. And come on now bro, ppl usin office 2007 and ur stuck wid office XP??

Is you Office Xp registered version ?
If yes, then while reinstalling have you uninstalled previous one completely?
If yes, then is your OS original?
If yes, then I think you may have some system files unknowingly or you have performed some delete operations that have deleted some .dll files or .exe files .... If you have your OS CD, then reinstall the Operating system (OS) itself , then you will get any files that are missing in your computer .....Then you install the office Xp .... I hope it works fine....... :-)

Hello:
Have you kept up with the upgrades? MS sends out notices that their software or operating system has been upgraded and you need to download these upgrades and then install them.
Good luck.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
