Keep head and feet warm and you will always feel less cold. Dress in layers so that it is easy to go in and out of heated buildings, subways etc. Hope you are fortunate enough to have a loved one, human or animal, to cuddle up to. That's the best.

Apart from the heavy coat, hat, scarf, and gloves, I suggest layering. It makes a really cute outfit if you do it right. For example maybe a cute button down blouse and a matching top to go over it or a cardigan is a good idea as well. Either way good luck and stay warm!

Aside from the normal clothing stuff, if you're talking about staying warm in your home, make sure it is well insulated. I have a log cabin and when we bought it, we had one heck of a time keeping the house warm. 138 tubes of caulking between the logs and chinking took care of the house and we are now replacing windows to energy star quality. You can also buy a film that goes on your window glass itself that will help keep the heat in.

Warm wishes!

It is your extremeties which allow heat from escaping your body when you're cold. Basically keep your extremeties warm and you should be able to feel less cold in the winter:

wear something on your head (like a hat or tuque) to keep it warm.
wear gloves
wear wool socks and warm boots that are water(snow)proof.

Also, drinking warm liquids is a myth; you should ingest cold liquids since they help lower your body temperature and in effect your body will be more used to the cold outside...

But do drink warm liquids once you come back IN from the cold!
