If you were to sign up for one of those dating sites and you found a person who seemed to be perfect for you and you started to talk to them and everything you asked they answered as you would hope they would and were totally honest with you but they happen to live a couple states away what would you do?

well if u feel u r afraid of letting the chance of ur life go why don't u convince them to come for a vacation in ur state (so u won't be the one making the sacrifices) then u will know if this is really the person for u when they r with u, and i guess after u find out if u really fit the decision won't be harder
P.S: if u meant by a couple of states a couples of countries & not like in a USA different state let it go (tried it and it never works)

Be careful bc ppl can be whoever they want to be on the internet. Not everyone is honest and them selves on here. Try dating ppl you meet close to home yes i know it seems harder but in the long run you will be able to tell who is faking and who isnt quicker and easier.

I would pass, but that is just me. I have tried the distance based relationship, and every time, it doesn't work. Phone bills too high....travel expenses too much. And in the end, we both found other people.
But hey, follow your heart. Your heart won't let you down. Sometimes our destiny isn't something we can rationalize.

I would continue to "talk" to him but as a friend.

how do you really really know how honest. he could just be telling you what you want to hear.so be safe.do not move to any state ....take alto of time........to know him .cause he is lieing he get trap in his lie.if you give it time and don't ever send him money never never.......think with your brain not with your heart......
