The deity described in the Old Testament (the Tanakh) did not create a hell or speak of a hell -- the choices were heaven or oblivion.
The new testament retake on that deity has him being capable of inflicting infinite punishment for a finite crime.
SO, let's assume you're talking about the later version -- I'd rather go to Hell, because any deity capable of the moral outrages of the Old Testament and sending those his people killed to Hell, is a genocidal, homicidal, egotistical maniac, and I refuse to worship a creature less morally fit than I am.
Kinda defeats the purpose.
And if the Tanakh version of YHVH is correct, then I'm assured of heaven anyways, so why should I worry? Or care?

I already am in heaven. On the other hand, some days are hell. Why are they thought of as exclusively absolute? Everyday, you make the call. If you chose hell.... *shrug. Actually, I don't get why there is an attempt by some to make sure that everyone is headed for one or the other? Why do they care? I sure don't.

Heaven, obviously. Anyone who claims they want to go to Hell really has a divergent, unbliblical view of "ultimate torment," which, when talking about Hell, really makes little sense. Hell's origin IS Biblical, so to view it in any other light is really warped.
Hell is the ultimate level of suffering, anguish and torment. When you're burning in Hell, then and ONLY then can you honestly and rightfully say, "Well at least it can't get any worse."
This is all, of course, discounting the condition of masocism, but that's a pandora's box left burried and forgotten...

Obviously you must be a non believer. I guess the question is first do you believe in a heaven and hell. If you knew about them you would not have to ask the question. To go to heaven one must first accept God's gift which is salvation through faith in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. The scriptures say "neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to man whereby you must be saved".That is the doorway to eternity in heaven. The doorway to eternity in hell is the rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ who God hath sent to die for your sins. As sinners (all mankind) we must have our sins forgiven in order to stand in the presence of a Holy God. It is only through the shed blood of Christ can we be cleansed from them. So really the question is a no brainer, life in glory with God the creator or life in hell where there is only pain and suffering and no light. Which do you choose? remember only one way to heaven and that is through the Son.not by your good works.

If you knew the difference then you would not need to ask this question. Find out what Heaven and Hell are. Some will we say they are imaginary places. The Bible says they are real. If the Bible is correct (and I'd rather believe in it than one day find out I was wrong) Heaven would be my choice.

IF there were a hell and a heaven, I'd rather go to hell, so I'm away from this god character. He's been nagging me (or people have been nagging me on his behalf) for all of my life. So I hope I'm free from that in eternity. They say now (in one more of the eternal adaptations of the Christian dogma to make it commercially more acceptable by people) that the actual punishment of hell is not an eternal fire, and pain, but just the fact that you'll be away from god. Well, that'd be an honour to me!

FAQ: Do Swedenborgians believe in Hell or the Devil?
Swedenborg states "a perception of the sphere of falsity from evil that flows forth from hell has often been granted me. It was like a perpetual effort to destroy all that is good and true, combined with anger and a kind of fury at not being able to do so, especially an effort to annihilate and destroy the Divine of the Lord, and this because all good and truth are from Him. But out of heaven a sphere of truth and good was perceived, whereby the fury of the effort ascending from hell was restrained. The result of this was an equilibrium. This sphere from heaven was perceived to come from the Lord alone, although it appeared to come from the angels in heaven. It is from the Lord alone, and not from the angels, because every angel in heaven acknowledges that nothing of good and truth is from himself, but all is from the Lord" (Heaven and Hell n. 538).
"It has been believed heretofore in the world that there is one devil that presides over the hells; that he was created an angel of light; but having become rebellious he was cast down with his crew into hell. This belief has prevailed because the devil and satan, and also lucifer, are mentioned by name in the Word, and the Word in those places has been understood according to the sense of the letter. But by "devil" and "satan" there hell is meant, "devil" meaning the hell that is behind, where the worst dwell, who are called evil genii; and "satan" the hell that is in front, where the less wicked dwell, who are called evil spirits; and "lucifer" those that belong to Babel, or Babylon, who would extend their dominion even into heaven. That there is no one devil to whom the hells are subject is evident also from this, that all who are in the hells, like all who are in the heavens, are from the human race (see n. 311-317); and that those who have gone there from the beginning of creation to this time amount to myriads of myriads, and every one of them is a devil in accord with his opposition to the Divine while he lived in the world" (Heaven and Hell n. 544).

From what christians say heaven is it doesn't sound like much fun.
Worshiping God for all eternity. God must have a really big ego.
For the sci-fi people. God is like the Ori on stargate. Demanding worship or death.
