They seem to only evaluate the top couple of models from the top couple of brands, not to really seek to find the best of a particular item. For example, Fujitsu plasmas are considered the pinnacle. You never see them mentioned. The best car waxes/polishes are never evaluated, because they generally are not available at Walmart or Target. So, if you want to know the best of what's widely available, it may be helpful. If you want to know what is absolutely best, you'll have to find another source.

I think that CR does very good and unbiased reporting and has saved me a lot of headaches. They could use a better car testing staff, though. I think their car reviews are a little too nitpicky. But yeah they are unbiased - just ask Sharper Image!!!

I think they're useful and unbiased, but they really strain sometimes to find differences between products that are nearly identical.

To my knowledge,and I was firm believer, a lot of their products were not better.
