Okay,
It depends on the design.
How much detail does it have? Does it have a bunch of details and small lines, is it a solid tattoo, does it have different colors, or just one? etc... It depends on the design...but it also depends on the artist, and their skills, how well you hold still(the more you move, the more they have to stop/go over the tattoo), how well your skin takes the ink..
I would say, it could take from 5 minutes to an hour, you never know with giving such vague details such as that, but that is just an estimate. Try simply asking the artist, you should be asking them all of the questions about your tattoo, or just not worrying about it. Common sense should assure you that it shouldn't take terribly long. Be good to you artist (and be sure to tip!)
You'll be fine...
Oh, and don't worry, find yourself a good artist, and you won't have to worry about scarring or any other risks...if you find a good one... Research for an artist, don't worry about price as much as you should worry about quality and safety!
Happy Halloween

It depends on what your having done, colours, detail etc. I have a small butterly done about the size of my thumb and that took 25 minutes so not erally long at all plus mine has alot of colour in it. If your not sure i would ask the tatoo shop.

I got two symbols on my right sholder in one color, moderate detail and it took maybe 15 minutes, but dudeman knew what he was doing. Make sure you look at the books of tattoos that they did, you want a good quality tattoo and not something crappy that you can't tell what it is, especially when your old and wrinkly.

depends on what it is and the detail involved, how many colors will be used...my guess is anywhere from 1-2 hours, not very long at all.

don't get a tattoo!! they are permenant and if you change your mind later in life, you'll be stuck with it. I would recommend you use temporary tattoos such as henna which is far more attractive and doesn't scar the skin.
