Sounds like you haven't told him you're gay? Or perhaps he knows - that's why he told you he's straight?
There's a new term called "Metrosexual" that's making the rounds. A metrosexual is a straight man (we're referring to men in this case) who dresses very fashionably, is clean cut, decorates well, is considerate, in short, he is what everyone would think is gay. Truth is, he happens to like style, nothing more.
Does he know you have a crush on him? Would he balk if he knew? Is this a crush only? Or can you actually visualize yourself with him after 10 years? Do you think *he* would be happy with you for 10 years? If not, do you think it's worth losing his friendship by hitting on him?
One suggestion is to find a way to work into a conversation that he's attractive. You don't need to say YOU find him attractive. Guys often think another person is too good for him. That's you opportunity to start telling him how much he's got, looks, personality, how anyone would be seriously lucky to have him, etc.

If he's as camp as you reckon he is, tell him to pack it up, it's not fooling anybody, and if he carries on doing it , everybody will think he's gay, so he shouldn't complain if somebody makes a move on him. Then, if he does carry on being so camp, make your move. If he complains, you can always say "Well I told you so, so don't complain when somebody plays you at your own game!" That should sort the bastard out! If it turns out that he's bisexual, give him a wide berth, because as well as being greedy bastards, they're a bloody nuisance!

I'm having the same problem, if he always want to be around his boys and will do anything they ask him to do and just don't even think about you,or if you stay next door to drag queens and they be out side alot and he want to just go outside while their out there,he's gay. and last if he let you play with his booty (cause ain't no real man about to let you play with their a**) he's gay

He can be camp and still be straight.
If he acts like most straight guys you'll know without having to ask him.
