It would break my heart. My wife's wedding ring belonged to my grandmother and is worth about 30K. It would kill me. I know she'd never do it...she loves that ring (I think) sometimes more than me!!

OUCH, I am engaged, I will be getting married in May and I would be PISSED!!! First of all I don't know why he would pawn it in the first place? Has he bought a replacement wedding ring since or is he walking around with NO ring?? I think that if he pawned it and didn't go back for it, but has now bought a new ring then what's done is done and you both should move forward, now if he pawned it and has no ring on right now, you need to put your foot down and let him know that is wrong. He is married and he needs to act like it. If money is tight you both should find some alternative for him to have a ring, a cheap ring if anything. But a married couple should always wear there wedding rings, its disrespectful not too. Good Luck

A ring is just a piece of jewlry. A wedding ring is full of symbolism. What you need to worry about is why was it ever pawned in the first place? If circumstances called for pawning the ring and it couldn't be help. That is understandable. If circumstances kept the ring from being pick up, that is understandable. Sometimes things happen; even bad things. If this ring was pawned under any questionable circumstance or wasn't picked up because of questionable circumstances...the trust is gone. You have two choices. The spouse is gone or you get counseling. That being said; if my husband ever pawned his wedding ring and/or lost it to the pawn shop...I'd run him over with my car.

I'm married, and I would be pretty devastated if my husband did this. The wedding ring is a symbol of marriage, love, respect for eachother, a never ending circle. Wearing your wedding ring also shows people that you are married.
Why would your spouse pawn their wedding ring?

If I was still with my spouse and they pawned their wedding ring I'd be really pissed and want to know why. Are they cheating? Do they have a gambling debt and needed money bad? Or drug money? Its not a normal thing for a happily married person to pawn their ring.

Well I'm not married but I would feel devastated to learn that. Was he just really hurting for money? I mean a wedding ring is the symbol of your marriage and committment to the other person and pawning it means you don't really care for it at all :( I'm sorry!

yes, I'm married and there has to be more to the story then the ring was pawned...was it pawned to pay bills or what? And as for the ring it's just a symbol, my hubby doesn't wear his ring, hasn't for about 10 years of our marriage, but I know he's devoted to me. If it bothers you this much, you need to talk to your spouse

I'm not married, but I am engaged. I would be very hurt if he did that. It's supposed to be a symbol of our love and the combining of us into one. I would think that he doesn't care much about the institute of marriage. I know some people say it's just a ring, but there is a meaning to the rings.

I'm married---It would hurt my feelings a lot if my wedding ring were pawned. It may have been a real emergency when it was done, but now it's too late to get mad. Hopefully you see that nothing means anything to him, sorry for your loss........

Did they have a "good" reason for pawning it, like you needed food or rent money? If not then I'd be pi$$ed!!!
I am married & would never think of doing such a thing. My rings are antiques that were passed down from my husband's family. 1 day my daughter will wear them, probably after I'm dead, of course. lol!
