I attended a wedding last year at the Laguna Gloria museum. It was amazing. I recommend the location very much.

Here's my two cents.

You need to sit down with your and her parents and talk about this. Make a master plan (an outline of sorts) that you want to do. Also include who is going to pay for what on it (You can google who "traditionally" pays for what.).

My other piece of advice is to have one wedding. If you have a quickie and then wait to have a "real" wedding you probably won't do it. Besides, what's the point of a vow renewal right after you get married. Wait at least until the 5 year anniversary for that.

Basically, go big or go home. Choose whether or not to have a regular wedding or a civil service and live with it.

You need to contact the county clerk's office for the county in which you live to obtain a marriage lisense. I live in Dallas, and there are about 5 offices that can issue a marriage license. It costed $41 (I think) and both of you need to appear and swear youre not cousins or arent already married. Then there's a 72 hr waiting period and you can take that license to your pastor and be married. They'll mail it back to the county clerk and you'll get it in the mail within 6 weeks. You'll need to have a copy of that license to show the pastor who marries you (if not the same one) at your big wedding with friends.

First set a date for the marriage. Then go to the court house in you area and ask them where to get a marriage license. They will point you in the right direction. Then get find a sight for the marriage. Ask the person who you want to marry you if they are available. If you want a cake make sure you tell the local bakery at least 1 week in advance. If you want flowers make sure to tell your local florist at least 2 weeks in advance so they can get the flowers you want in and can have them arranged on time. If the bride wants a dress she needs at least 2 weeks to get it fitted. Make sure you pick out the clothes you want to wear. If there are invitations to be sent make sure they get to the respective people at least 1 month in advance so they can plan to be there. Always ask for a RSVP.Ask for help from loved ones if you get overwhelmed. If you need more help go to a Michael's in your area and look for wedding magazines and most of them will have a wedding guide that you can adapt to your situation.

Most likely, you would go to your county clerk to apply for you marriage license. But once you fill out the paper work, you have a small time frame in which you must get married. Go online, or go to your local courthouse for more info.

The following link provides the information necessary to obtain a marriage license...

Once you complete that process it is a simple matter to find a Justice of the Peace to perform a civil ceremony. Good luck!
