...wonderful heat caused by hot wings and chili and other hot food. I was told once that bread or crackers work...is this true?

interesting..I heard JUST THE OPPOSITE..that milk makes it worse by just "suspending" the heat..not dissolving it.

Ice cream or sugar is the best.

Blue cheese is the best. You need dairy to counteract the hotness. When you get wings they usually give you blue cheese since it goes well with the hot and then celery cause its make mostly with water. So when you eat the combo together it should help tame the heat.

Unless you are eating automic type wings and then Ithink you are just S.O.L.

Milk really does the trick. Yes bread and crackers will but only for a short period of time. Milk takes it away completely.

Water and milk make it worse. I try bread and cheese. That usually works.

Drink something acidic, like a soft drink or citrus drink. Most 'hot' food is heavily alkaline, so acids tend to counteract.

Milk will cool it down-----Hey try flaming hot Cheetos witha glass of milk....GOOD ....(can be habit forming)
