When I was a kid around 1960, I saw a large plane crash and burst into flames near Swansea in the UK. How can I find out any details about this crash?

In the US they publish solved crashes in reports that are available to the public. Check for a similar public site in the UK or search for it on the web.

It is the FAA in the US. There has to be an equivalent in the UK :o)

Try the accident reports at the Air Accident Investigation Branch. At that time they were part of the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough. Their on-line reports only go back to 1980.
