I have a few ideas, but they are only ideas as many others have had.
Anyone that's convinced they know-think about it. How can they possibly know?
All I feel is that I did not create myself, however I have felt my existence since my childhood. Since I didn't create myself and I am here it stands to reason there's a good chance I will continue to exist after death in much the same manner as I have in this life. If I don't, I won't care.
I believe there isn't some fluffy heaven. I mean, look at an octopus! Look at tarantulas. Think about the inside of our bodies.
I am grateful for my humanity. I believe it's a gift and the holidays always seem to keep coming.

Question of the ages! I really think it has to do with what we want to happen. I think that it is something in our minds or souls. Many people believe in reincarnation, so when they die they may be reincarnated. Many people want to go to heaven. I don't generally think that they will just go there, because if you really wanted to go to heaven you would act like it in your life. Now lets say you were a good person in life and you made it into the pearly gates, well then heaven is what you want it to be. Say infinite wisdom, bowls of swedish fish (only the red ones) everywhere, mountain scenes in the background with snow on them but far enough away so your not cold. Then you sit there and chill till your friends and family show up. Heck maybe you just sit on a cloud and stare at earth, but I doubt it.

At death, the body returns to dust; the spirit/breath of life returns to God.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it

Jesus called death a sleep.
John 11:11-14 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

The Dead know nothing; they have no memory of the things done while alive, and all their feelings are perished.
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

The dead do not return to this earth, to their homes or freinds.
Job 7:9-10 As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. 10 He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more.

There are two things- Either Heaven or Hell.

John 3:3 "Unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God"

How is it that one is born again? By being born of the Spirit of God- by acknowleding you have sinned against God as it says in Romans 3 that we all have sinned and fallen short of his Glory. And the wages of sin is death ( which is hell) Romans 6:23

But God demonstrated his own love in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8

So by believing in what Jesus did for you on the cross, and putting your faith in him, you will be saved! You will inherit the kingdom of heaven. God made a way for us to be with him, for he is sinless and perfect and Holy and JUST! Those who have sinned and have not repented and believed in Jesus Christ will not be able to enter heaven.

Revelation 20:15
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

John 5:24
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

--It is through JESUS CHRIST that we are saved! There is no other way to heaven. Jesus says "I am the only way, truth and life, no man comes to the Father but through Me" -John 14:6

REvelation chapter 20.
we will be resurrected ( most of us ) to a life where we will then be judged on how we live. Then Satan will be out again then there will be a final time of taking your stand as an educated perfect human being so that it is inexcusable and none will be able to say but i did not know !

You go to a world similar to this one where-in you continue to have chances to learn. Some will learn, others will refuse to learn. But God will continue to teach anyone willing to learn until we know what He knows and can do what He does.

Those who hurt others in this life receive justice for their crimes in a tremendous hell of guilt and regret until they learn.....

No one who really knows is capable of telling us. The real truth is that no one will know until it is their time, and until then, I don't think worrying about it is beneficial.

It's your choice: burial or cremation. In any case, I strongly suggest organ donation.
