Who knows. That why you suppose to believe. You either do or you don't. As for suicide - it's considered to be very bad in every religion. We are put on this earth for a purpose by someone who probably knows what he is doing and it's not your choice to end it your way.

Having spoken to several theologians they all agree that not everything written in the Bible is the "Truth". Translations can skew meanings and one must understand that the bible was first passed as an oral tradition, then Aramaic, then Greek, then Latin. Each translation moves what was initially said farther away, just like rumors they may start as truth but by the end of the day they have morphed.

You sound like you are searching for something.
Now I can't say that every little detail in the Bible is true, but many of the historical markers are able to be proven. For instance, there really was a King Nebuchadnezzar and a Babylon.
Now for the questions of semantics, I would say that you have to question what you believe. If you believe in the Bible, you must chose your own interpretation for what you read. You local clergyman can help you out a lot.
In my opinion, though, yes killing yourself is still taking a life. So it is wrong. It does not say no killing unless it is yourself.
I hope that I have been help-full.

Hebrews 6:18: ..."It is impossible for God to lie..."
John 8:42-47: Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth. 43 Why is it YOU do not know what I am speaking? Because YOU cannot listen to my word. 44 YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]. 45 Because I, on the other hand, tell the truth, YOU do not believe me. 46 Who of YOU convicts me of sin? If I speak truth, why is it YOU do not believe me? 47 He that is from God listens to the sayings of God. This is why YOU do not listen, because YOU are not from God.”
Yes, the Bible is all true, granted some of the personalities in the Bible were liars, but that is stated, as shown above in the Scriptures. You can have faith in the truth of the Bible, just be cautious that what you hear and learn really comes from the Bible and not the teaching of men. There is a big distinction between the two sometimes. Remember the teaching at:
Acts 17:11:( speaking of the Beroeans,) Paul said: "Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so."
So back-up Scriptures with other Scriptures and see what proves itself to be true. Reason on the Scriptures. Jehovah's Witnesses are always ready to be of assistance. You can reach them through your local Kindom Hall. They offer free Bible studies, its what they do.

Since the Bible is a translation by men, only God knows for sure. I hope it is at least close.
Suicide (is) killing yourself, and murdering me or yourself is definitely against, "Thou Shalt Not Kill", in the Bible.

Yes, When you understand the Hebrew and Greek ways of writing.
In the bible there are parables, symbolism's, metaphors and cold hard facts. The wise person understands this and looks at scripture this way.

Even among early Christians, there were a lot of variations. The bible of today is just the surviving version, the one put forward by the sect that aligned with the politicos in power and persecuted the rival Christian sects.
so, no, it is not the absolute truth; it is only the version that a select group of humans chose to promote.

As I opened the first seal on my ark I hear a voice and it says, "Quick take a look at this crap!" I looked and BEHOLD..... I saw a mushroom growing on a Texas ranch. And it's name was Curious George. And death followed with it. And I saw in it's mouth an unclean thing (Was it a drunken wine-oh? ) And in its hand was a quill pen and it had Fox written on the pen and FEAR was it's weapon. And it gathered the beast with seven heads beside it. There was Limbaugh, Liddy, Coulter, and O'Reilly. And they took power from the beast. And in the midst I looked and I beheld a flock of sheep. And the sheep sang as they were led to the slaughter....... "Follow the yellow brick road!" ..... "Follow the yellow brick road!" And I saw much bulls**t being spread by those that took power from the beast by way of the holder of the quill pen. And the year was of our current calendar date 2040. And the children of the mushroom grower were seen riding on the back of the beast they too being drunk. And on the beast was a pile of rubble where once it was called Babylon the Great. And on the beast's back were other whores..... they being drunk also. And Israel walked with a cane.......... and had a bad limp too. And I opened the second seal of my ark and I heard a great rumbling like that of a man after eating too much chili. And I saw a great hoard of men with towels on there heads making gestures much like unto ostrich's when they try to hide. And I heard a loud blast and saw the mushroom of Texas and heard he who had his finger on the button say, "It is done!"
This is the forecast of the future as written in the book of "Those Caught in the Middle of Lunatics" So it is written, so it shall be done. RAmine!
Next time you have a question like this you might want to list it under Mythology & Folklore

Yep, except the commandment is, "Thou shalt not commit murder." Self defense, or defense of ones country or family is not murder. Suicide is concidered a sin because it is an indication of a lack of faith in God.
