A kitten's metabolism is much faster than that of an adult, especially that of a senior adult. The older a cat gets (or, really, most any mammal) the longer it takes to digest. Also, the kitten has a far greater caloric requirement than a senior cat, so it will consume more food, thus producing more waste.

Depending upon what you're feeding it, that can make a huge difference in waste production as well. A higher quality food (like Nutro) will produce less waste and will also make for a far healthier kitten overall. Low quality foods (like Meow Mix) contain a lot of fillers which will cause more waste production with less nutrition. In other words, your cat will have to eat (and poop) more to obtain necessary nutrients with a cheap food.

Congratulations on your new kitten!

It is normal we have a kitten and it seems we are always cleaning the litter box. If it gets too full you have a problem because the kitten will go any where and everywhere which is a hard habit to break.

You need to clean a litter box at least once a day, sometimes more often even.

Some cat's even prefer having two litter boxes, one for urinating and one for feces, and won't use if there is anything at all in the box already.

How would you like to use a toilet that only gets flushed once a week?

Kittens are very different, they eat more and this is due to growing. By eating more, they eliminate more. My kitten was 6 weeks old when I brought her home and she is now 5 months old and still fills her box daily. Kittens are growing very rapidly and need food to keep healthy. Don't worry, it's very normal. Good luck with your new little one.
