I don't see why not. I always thought it was a neat idea. I would say it's definitely okay! When people ask you about it you don't have to necessarily call it an engagement ring. Find your own term for it that will make you feel more comfortable. Or you could just tell them it's a ring that your fiance bought for you. Either way congratulations!!!

i just wonder why you say she "obviously" has one for you? Unless she's said something about having one, she most likely does NOT have one. Most women propose because they are tired of waiting for the guy to do it. They NEVER have a ring for their man to wear. If I'm wrong, I just want to say I've never heard of a woman getting a man an engagement ring.

It's funny because the engagement ring was actually originally worn by men due to the fact in Victorian times their were more women the men. Men would wear a small diamond chip to show that they were engaged. Woman would wear a colored stone such as emerald or amethyst. Over the years, it's become twisted and redone and now the woman wear the diamond.
GO FOR IT! Look up more on the male engagement ring and when people question you on it- tell them the history of the engagment ring!!

I would definitely get her a ring as well! And it's not completely odd for the guy to have a ring. In some countries/cultures, the guy and the girl both wear a ring or band to show that they are engaged. I think it's only fair! And it's a nice gesture... it's just that a lot of guys don't wear rings at all.

Wha't wrong with a man wearing an engagement ring, and who cares what people say!? People will always talk about other people because we are never exactly what society wants us to be. If you are okay with wearing an engament ring then wear it if anyone comments about it say "hey its my own thing" ....my husband wore and enagement ring long before he bought one for me! No body ever said anything and it kept all women away. Keep on Rockin that ring..it will make your fiance proud!

If you said yes, then it's ok. Define normal...? Call it a commitment ring or promise ring. Either way, it's proof you are loved and trusted and honored. Congratulations and blessings to you both!

honestly, I have never heard that one. I would say to each his own. And if she gave you a ring you should wear it, I think that is really sweet and romantic. But do find her a ring too. Congrats! I wish u the best .

Hey, guys end up buying rings for women all the time, so I don't see a problem with her buying one for you. It's about time the coin flips.

Go ahead and wear it. She did not propose for nothing. You don't hear of it often but I think it is perfectly okay.
