Who cares build the fence. The American public has clamored that they wish for this atrocity to be built. Then once all those billions of dollars are sunk into the building of this shameful wall......there will be no money for mass deportations...You see this is why the government is building this wall... We all know that it will not serve the purpose for which it is built....They didn't even build a levy that could protect New Orleans..... the illegals crossing are just as unpredictable.....Build the fence so they will be able to say later well we don't have the money now for deportations.......Also you will see discounts on ladders on the other side of the border. You just need a ladder to safely scale the wall without a scratch.

The wall will stop immigrants where the wall is built. that's why we must build the wall the entire border of mexicant.
the border is 2000 miles. the wall 700 miles costing 1.2 Billion Dollars.
We spend $90 BILLION DOLLARS A Year, on Welfare and other social services for illegal aliens!
We would save money by building the wall. Build it so tall and so long you can see it from outer space and be PROUD!

If someone entered your 'house' by the 'window' instead of by the front door, would you still consider them a welcome guest? That's what the US/Mexico border fence is all about, latching the 'windows'. Crime prevention, nothing more...they've talked about a similar fence with Canada, and in this day and age, it might not be a bad idea. 21st century, brave new world, etc etc etc...
As long as there are 'sanctuary cities', cities that've chosen not to abide by US immigration law, there'll be a temptation to try and circumnavigate the lawful steps to become a US citizen...the fence is just one piece of the puzzle, another good step is to take issue with employers that knowingly hire illegal aliens. Were that practice alone to stop, I think we'd witness a dramatic reduction in the number of people trying this whole gambit...but, the fence is still a good, positive concept, both for the US, and Mexico...
the fence will serve the purpose of still admitting lawful citizens of both countries to go about their business, but prevent smuggling etc. It's already been proven to work and have a positive effect, in some areas...hopefully, the people in Mexico also see the benefit of the whole concept, as it will help to reduce crime in their country, as well. Communities that enjoy law and order usually tend to also be prosperous communities, and the border fence will help prevent criminals from entering the US from Mexico, and hence make Mexico less attractive for them. Good fences DO make good neighbors...

Nothing can stop determined immigrants from entering.
There is no wall high or long enough.
Plus it is an archaic solution - long, long, long ago moots, walls and towers were erected to keep undesirables out; but we now see it did not stop them forever. Today those simplistic techniques are studies in history and antiquity.
It will be huge and EXPENSIVE band-aid (not to mention eyesore) that solves nothing. Just like Georgie's war bill, the cost will soar.
America knows that walls do not work, and we disapproved of it (i.e the Berlin wall).

The horrible thing about walls is that they only wall off the parts of the border where people could come into cities. They have proved that people still come in, in the same numbers as before, but they enter through the barren desert. They are always finding the bodies of men, women, and children out in the middle of nowhere.
Many US people that live near the borders have accepted the inevitability of immigrants--they will stash a hundred gallons of water under trees to help them. Sometimes they go to replace the jugs and find them slashed by ranchers.
Many people are under the inaccurate impression that walls discourage immigrants. It just forces them to risk their lives to get here.
If an immigrant is successful in coming in, then legally tries to get his family in, he will wait about 7 years for a spouse and 10 years for children.
It is really too bad that people sneak into the country. But sneak they do, and they don't deserve to die for it. Sometimes we punish an especially cold-blooded killer to die, but by not giving these people water, or even just allowing other people to give them water, we occasionally punish them to death.

We have already found other ways.
Visas(we don't go back),
and even U.S people in the borders like to get money from us and let us go through the "main doors" just like any other citizen.
If you don't want illegals here, you should start by making sure your own people is not taking our money.
Plus We Only Came To Seek A Better Life And To Work Decently.

If you are asking can a 700 foot long wall stop a human from going where he wants to go. then no, but this is only the start. The wall will get bigger and our enforcement laws stricter

That tunnel from Mexico was just on the news 6 months ago .I think they already found other way. I wonder how many cross over on foot that is the real question. We all know that they are smuggled over and such but how many walk over .Is the fence that will not cover the whole border be worth the money spent?

Forget the wall to stop them from getting in, I think the government needs to invest more money to seek and boot.

A wall is not going to stop illegal immigration as long as American businesses keep welcoming them and hiring them to do work that Americans won't do.
