you can reinstall from the original cd, but it will make everything on the drive unusable. backup all of your docs, pics and music first.
if spy ware is a problem, go to Windows online repair shop at
http://safety.live.com/site/en-US
and select full scan.
the best free antispyware software is at:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
its free and it really works.

How about you download the free SuperAntySpyware you can google it and that get rid of all your Spyware so that a reinstall from XP is not neccesarry. But If you still want to reinstall, than safe first your files all because you going to lose them. Than put the Reniew CD in your computer turn the computer of and when it restarts it should start follow than the directions given to you. You will have to Remove the old XP version, so do that when he is asking you. Than he will reinstall.

before u do that try to get some really good reviewed Spyware detection s/ws like Spybot, Ad Aware ( scaled down ver. is free I guess) or anything that has got really good reviews and get it installed and full scan can remove most common Spyware, malware's etc..
if this doesnt work then reboot ur system and get to the BIOS setup to enable the 1st boot device to be the CD ROM and then save and put in the XP CD and continue till the option for Freshinstall or Repair comes up and hit repair and simply follow the instructions as it goes..
and if that doesnt help hit fresh install instead of the above repair option and go along wit the instructions..
before u do the any of the above two make backup of the valuable data only... but watch out.. backup can also backup the spyware.. so before unpacking the backup after the install certainly do install a good Spyware detector as said above..
Good Luck..

Have you tried Adaware and Spybot yet? I would suggest you try these programs first. Do a search for them on Google and download them. After installed reset your computer and tap the F8 key till you get the boot up options. Boot up Windows in safe mode and run both of those programs. See if that helps.
