The person is a living soul...it isn't separate from the person at any point.
KingJamesVersion: Genesis 2:7:

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

Man is a living soul. The soul is considered the person...it does not function separately from the body, and was never thought to be separate until the philosophers and so called intellectuals began to ponder such notions and decide that it sounded good to them. Plato was one such thinker. Also the ancient Babylonians had beliefs that death was a passage into another kind of life.
However, thorough research using the Bible, and reason should be able to shine light on the true meaning of soul.

New King James Version: Ecclesiastes 3:19 & 20: (19) For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.
(20) All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust"

This Scripture shows that the soul dies...New King James Version: Ezekiel 18:4: “ Behold, all souls are Mine;
The soul of the father
As well as the soul of the son is Mine;
The soul who sins shall die."

Reason this way: how can a soul sin?...only if the soul pertains to the person as a living breathing soul, and this Scripture shows that the soul dies, not that it goes to another realm...rather it dies, it ceases to exist.

its hard to explain, in fact extremely few people actually understand it, and its practically un-speakable really... its just complicated and such in a way thats practically impossible to actually reduce to spoken/written word.

hell I'm not sure if it could even be broken into partial-phrases between people who DO know.. thats how complex it is.

Babies are born alive, therefore they already had a soul while they were in the body.

I think the soul is one of the biggest mysteries in existence.

Very few things have been mentioned about it.

The only thing I know is that angels protect a baby while its inside and I guess angels are the ones that bring the soul to the human the same way Gabriel brought the spirit to Mary to create Jesus.

Btw. am not christian...

Soul is life, distance between first and the last breath.
Every function of our body is controlled by our brain.

The energy personality first diffuses himself into many parts.Since entry into your plane or system,as a member of it, cannot be made in any other manner,it must be made in the simplest terms, and later built up-sperm,of course,being an entry in this respect.The energy of the personality must then be recombined.
